In another example from Cambridge Elementary School in Wisconsin, a photo taken from a single spot in the woods once a month creates a remarkable and evocative record of a place for this 28-inch Wheel of a Year. Add to that the study of phenology, where the students make specific observations of natural events and cycles in relation to the seasons and climate, and the Wheel fills in with the students observations. In the words of the students themselves, "We worked in the woods for a whole year so we knew what was happening out there." When asked why, the answer was, "so we can take care of it."
