“I use the wheel of the year to track what’s happening with the sun, moon, and planets, as well as projects I would like to accomplish throughout the year. For the celestial sphere, I record: 1) sunrise and sunset times, aphelions and perihelions, solstices and equinoxes, cross quarter dates, and astrological signs for the sun; 2) apogee and perigees, eclipses, and astrological signs for full and new moons; and 3) mercury retrograde cycles. For the earthly domain, I write down what I would like to accomplish on sticky notes in specific colors for the following categories: 1) physical projects – relating to body, health, finances; 2) major projects – gardening, wildcrafting herbs, making herbal medicines; 3) travels to visit friends and family; 4) work-related projects – workshops, classes, trainings; and 5) spiritual and creative projects. At first I tried to correlate my projects to astrological cycles, but that didn’t work very well. Now I correlate them seasonally, and I move the sticky notes around as needed. I remove a sticky note when I’ve accomplished a project, so by the end of the year there are only a few left. So instead of filling up, it’s like an emptying out, which is a very satisfying feeling!”
